Youth Pastors
The Chinese Christian Church Hills District is a non-denominational independent Christian Church. We are a genuinely loving church that worships God enthusiastically (Psalm 42). We are a healthy, multicultural, and diverse congregation of approximately 100 members in the Glenhaven suburb of Sydney, seeking a full-time Youth Pastor.
The primary responsibility of the Youth Pastor is to oversee the spiritual needs of the Youth and the development of Youth fellowship and Sunday worship.
- Participates in and contributes to staff meetings on church-related matters.
- Provides counselling and support to children and teenagers.
- Offers instruction to students in line with the tenets of their faith.
- Overseeing, growing, and coordinating the church's youth ministry and Sunday service.
- Designing, and overseeing youth fellowship and worship service.
- Leading high school and university students to encourage their spiritual growth.
- Interacting with students during Sunday services.
- Developing positive relationships with students and their parents.
- Sharing program plans through digital channels.
- Displaying a Christ-like approach and lifestyle and praying regularly for young people in the church and community.
- Incorporating Youth into various church ministries for His use.
- Growing number of students who are interested in the knowledge of God and His Word.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin/Cantonese
- Maintains an outgoing and positive attitude with the youth group.
- Evident relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Bachelor's degree in theology, biblical studies, or youth ministry.
- Previous youth ministry experience is an advantage.
- Proficient understanding of challenges and needs of young people.
- Must be a good listener and strong public speaker, with the ability to effectively educate and preach the church's religious message.
- Collaborates well with individuals of all age groups.
- Must be able to organize, supervise, and lead a large group of students.
- Must be an active participant in other church activities.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with social media.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Affinity for young people.
- Ability to lead by example.
- Available to work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and public holidays.
- The work environment will change frequently depending on the nature of the activities.
- Working hours are organized around student schedules so that most student engagement will occur outside of school hours and on weekends.
- Additional time during the day will be spent planning activities in an office setting.
- Must be prepared to conduct some local light travelling and occasional weekend trips.
